It's the Little Joys

Nov 13, 2021

This morning I got a text from a sweet collector with a photo of her coastal dune lake painting, “Storm”, and a message of “Happy Sunday”.  She has told me that this painting is in her bedroom, and it makes her happy every day when she gets up and sees it.

It reminded me this beautiful Sunday morning, that it’s the little joys that make a good life. In my immediate surrounding this involves weekly flowers, the smell of pine candles, cooking delicious things, listening to some Bach while painting, a new wreath for my kitchen, and buying some poinsettias for my window box.  You know, all those things involve the use of your senses, seeing, smelling, tasting, touching and hearing.  Increasing sensory experiences are some of the ways I can add little joys that positively add up and make me happy.  I can find bad stuff everywhere if I look.  So I choose to focus on the little joys and sharing my particular skills with others.

This week I am sharing more of my Coastal Dune Lakes.  The Coastal Dune Lake Print Collection is here!  I’ve taken a select group of paintings from the collection to offer in a variety of sizes.  I hope they can be a joy for you
